Being a business owner myself (Lenses and Laughter Photography) I can’t stress the importance of having a good DJ for any event. A DJ sets the pace of the party, if they’re not lively the event won’t be – if they’re awkward, the event will have that weird feel. (I know you know what I mean!) Jerry was an AWESOME DJ for our wedding! He is incredibly skilled at reading a room, and choosing songs to fit the vibe. This made planning much easier as we did not have to provide an extensive song list. My favorite thing about Jerry was all of the games he had up his sleeve! We wanted to keep the party going and he suggested ideas that made it seem like he had known us for years instead of just a couple of hours. Our family, friends, and even the venue staff commented on how much fun they had and how unique Jerry made our wedding.
Jerry took on several roles throughout the day: announcer, hype-man, comedian, and most importantly, a friend.

Jerry just did my wedding this past Saturday and did an amazing job. Not a single person was sitting/not dancing. His song selections were amazing, he did a great job announcing everything, and his “surprises” were hilarious. I would recommend to anyone having a wedding. Kevin proposes, I squeal and cry and call everyone and then….oh my god I have to find a DJ. Literally my first thought….and I could not have been more happy with Jerry Karns’ work! He was impeccably dressed to fit our black tie style, played music that got MY GRANDMA on the dance floor (amazing photos btw), and communicated with everyone seamlessly at the wedding. He was professional, focused, and was dedicated to one thing- making sure Kevin and I were happy. Not only was Jerry an excellent DJ, but he was also kind of our lead point man. When we were about to do introductions…. the bridal party wouldn’t shut up! Jerry swooped right in so that Kev and I could sit back and not have to wrangle our lovely (drunk) friends. He also pretty much kept Kev and I on time for everything that we needed to do, but still ensured we had plenty of dancing time! Something super extra special about Jerry is the way he reads and communicates with the guests. He had every last person up and out of their seats– and brought some surprise games for Kev and I to play and other surprises for the crowd. “I hired Jerry to DJ my wedding after seeing how amazing he was at one of my good friend’s wedding. Jerry was very professional and made it a point to meet up before the wedding to go over all sort of details. When we met up he laid everything out and a time frame of when everything should take place. He gave us a lot of helpful suggestions as to what our family and friends would enjoy the most and things that sometimes don’t go over well and full explanation as to why not. With all of his suggestions I believe our wedding was the most amazing day EVER! Also, Jerry was very helpful every time we had any questions regarding the wedding and certain song choices for certain parts of the wedding! As far as the wedding goes, he was AMAZING!!! “There is no denying that Wedding preparations can be challenging, to the say the least of expensive. When my father-in-law offered to hire our DJ, I was thrilled. He, of course, left the decision up to us, but recommended Jerry, known to me as a colleague, but to my husband’s family as a friend. Not at all reluctant to the suggestion, we hired him for our August Wedding at Heron Hill in Hammondsport, NY. The experience I had with Jerry’s DJ services was nothing less than phenomenal.

Our beautiful Wedding was not hindered by the suggestions Jerry made; better yet, his creative solution to add a trick to the Chicken Dance got all of the guests off of their feet to enjoy the dance floor and each other. I tear up to think of the priceless pictures that silly little plan gave us. And let me tell you how thrilled my shy father was to have made a deal with Jerry for the Father-Daughter Dance. He felt more comfortable being able to dance in front of the family. Every aspect of the Reception agenda was planned and operated by Jerry. There was no reason for this hands-on bride to not focus her attention to the party and let everything run smoothly in his hands. Not to mention that the music selection was spot on; giving a mix of classics with contemporary/popular music for great dancing and socializing. The event was memorable and worthwhile. “Jerry Karns was the DJ of our wedding on 9/1/07. He met with us twice before our wedding. Our first meeting was so that he could get to know what we wanted from start to finish for our special day and gave us a quote so that we could factor our budget. We worked out the ceremony music, the first dance all the way to the last dance. He listened to what we wanted and he gave suggestions based on his professional experiences. Our second meeting was him showing us what he had done, and what ideas he had to make things more spectacular.
